Bizarrely beautiful

This is a place somewhere in between Sarchu and Leh. I don’t think I’m overstating the case by saying that the Manali to Leh is one of the world’s classic road trips. Lush green valleys, barren ice-fields and a surreal high-altitude desert are all part of this epic journey over the second highest motorable road in the world. An incredible journey even with all the altitude sickness, bone chilling weather, dizzy heights, non-existing roads, tight hairpin bends,.. Anytime I look at the photographs I recollect all the details.. Think I should again attempt to write the travelogue before I totally forget everything..(first one that I wrote went in drain when my hard disk crashed :( )

Gone through all your posts and can't be without saying - "Wow!"

I've seen all ur flicker pics sometime back and I remember some really good snaps out there. Guess u will be posting them soon here too.

Btw, are u aware of BoolokaPhotoClub where they conduct some friendly competitions? Not so active these days though :)

And I think this blog may be of interest to you.

Here are 3 of my fav photo blogs in malayalam. There are many, but only these links i have handy.
1. ഭൂതകാലക്കുളിര്‍
2. യാത്രാമൊഴി
3. പ്രാണിലോകം

I love the name of this blog as this name serves me bread. :) I mean I work in a technology called Vignette for the company with the same name. :)

One request. If u have time to read this , pls go through and if u feel to join the protest, pls do so by keeping a post in ur Ruminations.

@ Bhaimi : Thanks a lot for introducing some wonderful blogs. I've added then in my feeds. And I'll surely join the protest. Some of the mails sound scary :(

@ manasa : Thanks a lot for coming here. I don't have an SLR. This snap is taken using Olympus C750 UZ

Hi Dhanya... I'm Clement's friend. The name's fletcher. Sorry for barging in without permission but I like photography and so couldn't help but take a sneak peek at your pics. Beg your pardon ma'am...

Let me give you my comments. The pic last posted is really fabulous. Couldn't really imagine that there's such a place as this. Excellent and exquisite.. Did you use a digital SLR?.. How come the quality is so good?.. Secondly do you know something...?. An amateur is actually as good as a professional. The only diff is professionals do it for money.. Happy clicking!

Hi Dhanya,

That is a wonderful picture. I have been this mystically beautiful place and lived in the terrain for 2 years of my life. The Land of Passes (Ladakh) is one of the most mesmerizing places I have seen.

I have taken a look at your pictures on Flicker. I am spell bound. Neat Stuff. Thanks for sharing the same with us.
